Annie is a star. Not yet finished with her last year at San Francisco’s Academy of Art University, Annie is our newest photographer and the first student ever to be signed on by Monaco Reps. Each spring, Claudia attends the Acedemy’s end of term portfolio review. And, this year she returned to New York beaming with excitement having found an undiscovered gem of a photographer, Annie Martin. Before beginning her studies at the Academy, Annie spent twelve years as a personal chef in the Bay Area- an area known for its intimate relationship with food. Thus, it’s no surprise that Annie shoots food exclusively. And, her prior experience as a chef is evident in her work. Annie does all of her own food styling and lighting; and her expertise, combined with clean compositional elements and simplicity, give her photographs a fine art look and feel of their own.
