We are truly please to introduce our fifth giveaway: FOGEYS, an award winning, limited edition fine art book from David Stewart. Known for having a certain aesthetic; colorful and wry, Stewart’s images offer the viewer something intriguing below the surface – delightful yet perhaps unsettling. FOGEYS is a series of images that, as the following quote from the book explains, is not your average collection of octogenarian portraiture. June In February shows an old woman  stretched out in the snow smoking cigarettes, while Gameboys shows what happens when grandpa gets a hold of the PlayStation controllers.

FOGEYS is a genuine collector’s item, with a limited edition run that sold out when offered at Printed Matter and Chelsea Art Musem, and won a silver award at the Art Directors Club of New York. Available in his and hers editions, the books are wrapped in striped or floral cotton pajama material, and come complete with a chenille bathrobe casing. Gammy this and gammy that. Cursing how much time is left on the clock. Is this what we’ve got to look forward to?

Bingo.

We found a bunch of old people who were growing old disgracefully. Who were too busy kicking a ball about the beach to contemplate kicking the bucket. Who loved ice cream and swimming and sex.

These old people told us everything we need to know about the so-called twilight years. Just because you don’t have your own teeth, doesn’t mean you can’t laugh. Doesn’t mean you can’t have a laugh.

It was so much fun, we thought we’d go and toast the times that lay ahead. We asked an old chap where the nearest pub was and he told us to f**k off.
